Belvédère Castle, Neoclassical castle in Laeken, Belgium
The Belvédère Castle features symmetrical wings, a central dome, and large windows that illuminate its interior halls and ceremonial rooms.
French architect Charles de Wailly designed the castle in 1781 for Austrian Archdukes Maria-Christina and Albrecht of Saxony-Teschen as their residence.
The castle contains a collection of restored tapestries from the original furnishings, displayed in the ground floor audience chambers.
Located near the Royal Palace of Laeken, the castle serves as the residence of former King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium.
The castle grounds include English-style gardens designed by Lancelot Brown, incorporating natural landscape elements with architectural features.
