Wintercircus

The Wintercircus is an event and music venue at Miriam Makebaplein in Ghent that spans multiple levels with a central arena space, startup campus, and various entertainment areas. The building combines these different functions under one roof in the heart of downtown.

The building originally functioned as a circus arena and automobile garage before being transformed into a contemporary cultural center. This conversion preserved the industrial architecture and the distinctive circular design of the original structure.

Musicians of different genres perform regularly in the underground concert hall, while the upper levels host technology conferences and art exhibitions. This mix of music and innovation shapes the daily life within the space.

The venue has three entrance points, with the music club located on level -1 accessible through stairs, ramps, and elevators from Miriam Makebaplein. Visitors should allow time to explore the different areas as they are spread across various levels.

The building houses an ecosystem of around 35 technology companies working in the same spaces as concert stages and exhibition areas. This unusual combination creates a space where creative and technical communities meet daily.
