De Brielmeersen, Provincial domain and recreation area in Deinze, Belgium

De Brielmeersen is a 40-hectare provincial domain in Deinze with walking trails, ornamental ponds, and wetland areas. The grounds sit between the Leie River and Schipdonk Canal and include a yacht harbor plus an accredited zoo section housing various birds and grazing animals.

The site opened as a city park in 1975 and initially served as local green space for the community. In 2015, the province took over management and expanded it into a larger recreation area.

The name comes from its location between river and canal, reflecting how water shapes the space visitors explore. Today, families use the grounds to walk, watch wildlife, and spend time outdoors together.

The park is easiest to reach through the Lucien Matthyslaan entrance, where Brielparking parking is located near the main gate. Well-marked paths allow visitors of all abilities to explore the grounds and choose different routes based on their interests.

The zoo section holds silver herons, spoonbills, and owls in dedicated aviaries where visitors can watch them up close. Adjacent meadows are home to deer, sheep, goats, and horses grazing freely, creating an open wildlife experience.
