Steen der Zeven Heerlijkheden, Historic boundary marker in Lommel, Belgium.
The Stone of Seven Lordships marks the point where the boundaries of Lommel, Mol, Dessel, and Balen converge. The marker sits in a small clearing beside a road, positioned roughly 100 meters (330 feet) north of Blauwe Kei.
The stone was established in 1648 to mark boundaries between seven territories during a period of major territorial restructuring in the Low Countries. Following border adjustments in 1843, it came to rest entirely within Belgian territory.
The stone reflects the heritage of seven historical lordships that once governed this region, with seven trees planted around it in recent times. These trees now serve as a visual reminder of the territories that converged at this spot.
The stone is located in a quiet, rural area that is easily accessible on foot. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as the path to the marker can be uneven and unpaved.
Originally this was a tri-point where three nations met, but 19th century boundary changes shifted its location within Belgian territory. The site remains significant as a marker of how historical borders shaped this region.
