North Park, Urban park in Nadezhda district, Sofia, Bulgaria.
North Park is an urban park in the Nadezhda district of Sofia, with a central pond, tree-lined paths, open green areas, and planted flower beds. A small historic building stands near the main entrance and marks one of the older parts of the site.
The park was laid out in the 1960s on land that had previously been used for farming on the northern edge of the city. The former owner's house, which predates the park itself, still stands near the entrance.
People from the Nadezhda district come here at different hours to walk, sit on benches, or spend time with neighbors. The park draws a mix of families, older residents, and young people, each using the space in their own way throughout the day.
The park has several entrances, with the main one on the Nadezhda district side being the easiest to find. The paths are in good condition and the whole area can be walked at a comfortable pace without any special preparation.
One of the play areas is designed as an airport, with model terminals and small aircraft for children to climb on, which is not something often found in city parks. A second area near the pond draws on ocean shapes, creating an unexpected link between two very different themes within the same park.
