General Mufti Office, Sofia, Muslim administrative institution in central Sofia, Bulgaria

The General Mufti Office (Glavno myuftiystvo) in Sofia is the headquarters of Bulgaria's Muslim denomination, led by a Chief Mufti elected by the National Muslim Conference for a five-year term. Its administration supports the Chief Mufti and the Higher Muslim Council, and it coordinates 20 regional mufti offices and about 1,450 Muslim boards of trustees across the country.

The institution was established in 1878 following a princely decree that created the legal foundation for the Mufti system in Bulgaria. Since then it has grown into a key administrative body for managing Islamic affairs nationwide.

The office manages religious education programs, publishes Islamic materials, and maintains connections between Bulgarian Muslims and international Islamic organizations.

The office's monthly magazine "Myusyulmani" replaced an earlier newspaper of the same name and appears in Turkish and Bulgarian, with a 20-page children's supplement called "Hilal" (Crescent). The Turkish edition reached its 350th issue in 2024.
