The Regional History Museum occupies the former Central Mineral Bathhouse, featuring eight exhibition halls that display artifacts from different historical periods.
Founded in 1928 under Mayor Vladimir Vazov's initiative, the museum collection spans from the 6th millennium BC through the 1940s with 120,000 objects.
The permanent exhibition presents the evolution of Sofia through archaeological findings, ethnographic items, and documents across eight thematic rooms.
The museum welcomes visitors from May to October daily between 10:00 and 18:00, while from November to April it operates Tuesday through Sunday.
The collection includes King Ferdinand's carriage and the Vitosha gold-sealed Deed of 1378, documenting the city's name change to Sofia.
