Wonderful Rocks

Wonderful Rocks is a natural formation of ten limestone towers reaching up to 50 meters high along the Tsonevo reservoir. Three tunnels cut through the rock formation and allow vehicle access to the site.

The site was shaped through natural water erosion over long periods, creating castle-like structures from the limestone. The government recognized its significance in 1949 and designated it as a protected natural monument.

Local stories surround these limestone towers, speaking to their remarkable character and presence in the region. Visitors notice how the rock forms seem to respond to specific weather conditions with distinctive sounds.

The site is free to visit year-round and requires no special preparations. Visitors can drive through the tunnel passages by car and explore the location at their own pace.

The steep walls of the rock formation reflect in the reservoir surface, creating striking visual effects throughout the day. These reflections shift with lighting conditions, making each visit look different.
