Founded in 1949 as the Museum of Modern Art of Florianópolis, the institution changed its name to Santa Catarina Art Museum to reflect its broader artistic scope.
The museum maintains a collection of Brazilian artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and graphic pieces from regional and national artists throughout different periods.
Located at Avenida Gov. Irineu Bornhausen 5600, the museum opens Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM with free admission.
The exhibition 'Sou Catarina' presents Santa Catarina's history through local artists' works, remaining on display until February 2025.
