The planetarium opened its doors on July 29, 1965, during the Soviet era, with architect Natallya Afanasyeva implementing the Soviet Modernist design principles.

The facility presents astronomy shows in multiple languages, including Russian, Belarusian, English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Czech, Romanian, Estonian, and Polish.

Located at Vulica Frunze 2, the planetarium operates Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering regular sessions about astronomical phenomena.

The Minsk International Fulldome Festival showcases scientific documentaries, animated films, and short art pieces from various countries in a 360-degree format.
