The palace and park complex Tyzengauz, Postavy

Tyzengauz Palace is a 19th-century residential estate combining baroque and neoclassical architectural features in Postavy. The main building stands three stories tall with symmetrical facades, while a large park with tree-lined avenues and water features surrounds the grounds.

The complex was built in the 1830s under Antoni Tyzenhaus and served as an administrative center for the region. Its architectural style reflected European trends that were fashionable in Eastern Europe during that era.

The complex reflects how the region's landowning families organized their estates and hosted important gatherings. The layout of rooms and gardens still reveals the hierarchies and daily rhythms of that period.

The building currently houses a district hospital, but the park is open for visitors to walk through. You can explore the grounds and enjoy the landscaping, though interior access to the palace itself may be restricted.

The facades incorporate design elements from Italian architects Giuseppe de Sacco and Carlo Spampani, giving the palace an unusual European character. This Italian influence makes the estate a rare example of cross-cultural architecture in Eastern Europe.
