Парк Победы, Memorial park in central Minsk, Belarus
Victory Park spans a large area along the Svisloch River and features walking paths, monuments, and an artificial lake for recreation. The grounds are well organized with separate zones for different activities and ways to move through the space.
Construction began in 1941 with a dam on the Svisloch River that created the artificial lake. The site remained under development due to the Second World War but was eventually completed and opened to the public.
The war museum within the park displays weapons, photographs, and personal items from soldiers who fought during the Second World War. These objects tell stories of ordinary people who lived through the conflict and help visitors understand what happened during that time.
The park has cycling paths, sports facilities, and playgrounds that remain open throughout the year. It is easy to walk around and find places to rest or enjoy different types of outdoor activities.
In 2013, the park received official status as a combined museum and park complex that integrates recreation with historical monuments. This blend of nature and history allows visitors to walk freely while also encountering places of remembrance throughout their time there.
