Palace and park complex of Valovich

The Palace and park complex of Valovich is a Baroque structure with symmetrical design, tall windows, and a main entrance framed by classical columns. The grounds include gardens surrounding the main building to form a complete estate.

An Italian architect named Giuseppe de Sacco designed and completed this noble residence in 1779, bringing Italian architectural principles to Belarus. The project marked a time when European artistic forms were gaining influence in regional aristocratic circles.

The palace shows how European and local design traditions came together in ways that appealed to the nobility of the 18th century. You can see this blend in the proportions, the decorative details, and how the building sits within its surroundings.

The complex sits near Sviack village and is accessible by foot or car. Wear sturdy shoes since the gardens have uneven ground and the overall grounds are sprawling.

Inside, the rooms are arranged in a circular pattern, giving the building an unusual spatial layout. This design allowed residents and guests to move through a sequence of connected spaces without retracing their steps through hallways.
