Île d'Orléans, River island in Saint Lawrence River, Canada

Ile d'Orleans stretches 33 kilometers in length and 8 kilometers in width, featuring hills, valleys, and numerous streams across its territory.

French settlers established communities on the island in the early colonial period, making it one of the first colonized areas in Quebec.

The island maintains traditional French-Canadian heritage through its architecture, with historic wooden houses painted in blue, red, and white colors.

Visitors can explore the entire island by following Route 368, which circles the perimeter and connects to the mainland via Beauport Bridge.

Local farmers produce blackcurrant wines and preserves, while maintaining orchards for apples and fields for strawberry cultivation throughout the seasons.
