Canadian Tire Centre, Multi-purpose arena in Kanata, Canada.
Canadian Tire Centre is a multi-purpose arena in Kanata, a western suburb of Ottawa, with seating for over 19,000 spectators at sporting events and concerts. The facility covers a wide site with a large parking lot and several entrances for public access.
The arena opened in January 1996 under the name Palladium and served from the start as home for the NHL's Ottawa Senators. The name changed several times over the years until the hall received its current name in 2013.
The venue hosts numerous NHL games as the home of Ottawa Senators, along with concerts by international performers and national championships throughout the year.
The site offers extensive parking directly on the premises, and during events OC Transpo shuttle buses run between the center and downtown Ottawa. Signs guide the way to different sectors once you enter the building.
Starting in the 2024/25 season, the hall will also become home to the Ottawa Black Bears of the National Lacrosse League, bringing a new sport into the program. The facility sits well outside the city center, surrounded by fields and commercial areas.
