Cathedral of St Teresa of Avila

The Cathedral of St Teresa of Avila is a church in Byzantine Revival style located in Amos on the highest hill in town, featuring a circular layout and a concrete dome rising ten stories above ground. The building is constructed from concrete and bronze and provides seating for around 1,200 worshippers.

Construction began in 1922 under architect Aristide Beaugrand-Champagne with help from local workers. The project emerged during a time when the region faced regular threats from forest fires, which shaped decisions about what materials to use.
