Pavillon Alphonse-Desjardins, University building in Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge, Canada
Pavillon Alphonse-Desjardins is a university building on the Laval University campus that serves academic and student functions. It contains meeting rooms, the Atrium Jean-Guy Paquet, a university pub, a large hall, and various service areas.
The building opened in 1995 with financial backing from Desjardins Credit Unions, the university, and CADEUL. This partnership made the construction of this important campus facility possible.
The interior features two art installations: Le bateau ivre by Francine Simonin and Vertiges by René Taillefer are displayed in visible spaces. These works shape the character of the building and invite people to notice them while moving through.
The building is located on the main campus and is easy to find, especially for visitors familiar with the grounds. The various spaces are clearly marked, and it is worth allowing time to explore if you plan to visit multiple areas.
The building connects to the nearby Pavillon Maurice-Pollack, forming an integrated complex with additional conference rooms and performance venues. This connection creates a unified space that combines multiple functions under shared facilities.
