Miscou Island Lighthouse, Maritime navigation landmark at Birch Point Cape, Miscou Island, Canada.
The wooden octagonal tower stands 24 meters tall at the northeastern edge of New Brunswick, guiding ships through the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The Province of New Brunswick constructed this lighthouse in 1856 to reduce shipping accidents at the southern entrance of Chaleur Bay.
The structure demonstrates traditional maritime engineering with eight independent panels built separately, representing lighthouse construction methods of the 1850s.
The lighthouse includes paved parking for tour buses, washroom facilities, and grass areas with picnic tables for visitors.
In 1946, the entire lighthouse structure moved 61 meters inland due to shoreline erosion threatening its original location.
