Cape Spencer Light is a lighthouse on the Bay of Fundy near Saint John, New Brunswick. The current tower is made of white and red fiberglass and stands on the lighthouse grounds along the coastal water.
The original wooden structure was built in 1873 and replaced by a concrete tower in 1918. In 1983 it received its current fiberglass covering.
The lighthouse stands as a testament to maritime navigation methods, marking dangerous waters and guiding vessels through the Bay of Fundy region.
The lighthouse grounds can be reached via Red Head Road from Market Square in Saint John. The tower itself is closed to visitors, but the exterior area can be viewed.
The beacon emits a fog signal three times per minute and is visible from far across the water. These special navigation aids help keep ships safe in this area.
