The Hogg's Hollow Bridge consists of four separate structures spanning the West Branch of the Don River Valley, carrying 14 lanes of Highway 401 traffic.
The bridge opened on January 5, 1929, establishing a vital connection between Wilson Avenue and York Mills Road across a deep ravine in Toronto.
The bridge stands in an area named after James Hogg, a Scottish settler who operated a successful whisky distillery and grist mill in 1824.
The structure accommodates approximately 400,000 vehicles on weekdays, making it North America's most frequented multi-span bridge crossing.
The bridge rehabilitation project in 2012 required extensive structural improvements and cost 86 million dollars to maintain this critical transportation link.
