Jungle Cat World

Jungle Cat World is a wildlife park in Orono housing more than 150 animals from approximately 60 different species spread across the facility. The park features large cats, wolves, and various primates living in spacious enclosures designed for their needs.

The park was founded in 1983 as Orono Exotic Cat World and has grown into a major facility focused on animal care and education. Over the decades, it has expanded its programs and solidified its role as a community resource.

The park offers hands-on programs where children work alongside experienced staff to learn about animal care and behavior. These activities help young visitors develop a genuine connection to the animals they encounter.

Plan to spend several hours exploring different areas of the park and observing the scheduled animal feeding tours held throughout the day. Visiting in the early afternoon works well since that is when feeding activities occur and animals are more active.

The park offers an overnight stay program where visitors can spend the night on the grounds and observe nocturnal animals during their most active hours. This special experience reveals wildlife behavior from a perspective rarely seen during standard daytime visits.
