Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Motorsport racing track in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada
Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is a permanent circuit in Bowmanville, east of Toronto in the province of Ontario. The track measures around 4.1 km and runs through ten corners over gently rolling terrain with natural rises and dips.
The course opened in 1961 under the name Mosport Park and hosted several editions of the Canadian Grand Prix in Formula One from 1967 to 1977. After changes of ownership, the facility received its current name in 2012.
The facility takes its name from a well-known Canadian retailer with long-standing involvement in motorsport. On race days, fans gather in the grandstands to follow the action on the circuit, while driver schools between events introduce students to racing technique.
The venue lies around 75 km east of Toronto and offers camping areas, grandstands, and concessions for visitors during the racing season. First-time visitors find orientation easiest near the main grandstand, which provides views over much of the course.
The layout has remained unchanged since opening day, making this course the oldest permanent track in Canada with its original design intact. Turn five climbs so steeply that cars often lose contact with the ground momentarily at the crest.
