Loring-Wyle Parkette, Small park in Moore Park, Toronto, Canada.
Loring-Wyle Parkette is a small park located at the corner of Mount Pleasant Road and St. Clair Avenue East in the Moore Park neighborhood. The space features green lawns, seating areas, and several sculptures that invite visitors to sit and view the artwork.
The site was originally a streetcar loop operated by the Toronto Transit Commission until it closed in 1976. Following requests from local residents, the land was converted into a public parkette in 1984.
The park displays works by artists Frances Loring and Florence Wyle, who lived and worked together as creative partners. The sculptures here reflect their shared artistic vision and long collaboration in the city.
The parkette is situated in a residential neighborhood and is easily accessible on foot, with benches for resting and open green areas. The space is accessible during daylight hours and offers a pleasant spot to take a break or view the sculptures at your own pace.
Each artist created a bust of the other, reflecting their close creative partnership. These mutual portraits remain visible in the parkette today and show the deep artistic bond between the two.
