Ramsden Park, Public park in downtown Toronto, Canada
Ramsden Park is a public park in downtown Toronto covering around 13.7 acres between Yonge Street and Avenue Road with multiple recreational facilities. The grounds feature children's playgrounds, basketball courts, and hockey rinks spread across the property.
The City of Toronto purchased this land in 1904 after it operated as brick manufacturing yards from the 1840s through the 1890s. The brick produced here was used in construction of major buildings throughout the city.
A monument at the park entrance displays poetry by Canadian literary artist George Elliot Clark, creating a space where people come to engage with Canadian writing and reflection.
The park can be reached via multiple entry points and Rosedale Station on the Yonge-University subway line is just a short walk away. This makes it easy to visit without needing a car.
The playground features a climbing structure shaped like a ship mast built into natural slopes on the grounds. Musical installations and water play areas add unexpected sensory elements that make the space memorable for children.
