Manulife Centre, Mixed-use skyscraper in Yorkville district, Toronto, Canada
Manulife Centre is a 51-story tower reaching 166 meters at the intersection of Bay and Bloor Streets. It combines residential apartments, office space, and retail shops throughout its mixed-use floors.
The structure was designed by Toronto architectural firm Clifford and Lawrie in 1970 and completed in 1974 for Manulife Financial. It represented a major development in transforming the Yorkville district into a modern commercial hub.
The building houses Canada's first Eataly location, where Italian food products and dining experiences occupy multiple levels. This brings a distinct European flavor to the Yorkville shopping and dining scene.
The building connects underground to Bay station on Line 2 and Bloor-Yonge station via tunnel passageways. This direct link makes it easy to reach by public transit in any weather.
The building underwent renovation with significant new retail space added behind custom glass panels. Its original precast concrete facade elements were preserved, blending classic architecture with contemporary changes.
