Mississagi Provincial Park, Provincial park in Algoma District, Canada
Mississagi Provincial Park is a protected area in Algoma District featuring forests and multiple lakes throughout its landscape. The park contains the Boland River and several lakes including Semiwite Lake and Flack Lake, which serve as focal points for recreation.
The area was first established as a protected space in 1965 and received official recognition under the Provincial Parks Act in 1973. A major expansion occurred in 2002 when Stag Lake Peatland and Boland River Valley were incorporated into the park.
The forests within the park represent a transition zone between the northern boreal forest and the southern Great Lakes-St Lawrence forest systems.
The park has 72 campsites with both vehicle-accessible options and backcountry locations for different preferences. Boat launches and docks at Semiwite Lake and Flack Lake provide water access for visitors.
The Stag Lake Peatland and Boland River Valley were added to the park in 2002, expanding the protected area by 3,574 hectares.
