Phare de Québec, High-rise building project in Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge, Canada.
Phare de Québec is a proposed high-rise development in the city comprised of four towers centered on the main structure. The complex combines residential apartments, office space, a hotel, and retail areas into one integrated project.
The project was conceived following the demolition of Hotel Governors in 2013, which freed the site for redevelopment. This location on Boulevard Laurier was then selected for this large-scale construction initiative.
The complex design incorporates a 750-seat multimedia concert hall and various commercial spaces, reflecting the modern urban development vision for Quebec City.
The project is located at a convenient central location in the city and is easily accessible by public transportation. Getting to the site is straightforward from various parts of town.
Local residents expressed concerns about the project's effects on wind patterns and its competitive impact on neighboring properties due to its substantial floor space of 186,000 square meters.
