Fonderie Darling

Fonderie Darling is an art center occupying two converted industrial buildings in Old Montreal with large exhibition spaces and working studios. The facilities combine galleries and production workshops where artists create and present their work.

The center was founded in 2002 and transformed former factory buildings into a space for contemporary art. Converting these industrial properties into art venues helped reshape the cultural character of the neighborhood.

The space brings together artists from around the world who work side by side and exchange ideas through shared projects and shows. You can observe how international artists collaborate and develop work within the studios.

The venue is open several days a week with daytime and evening hours, and stays open later on certain weeknights. You can walk through the grounds at any time and often watch artists at work in the studios.

The building was once a foundry, a place of machinery and metalwork, whose industrial past remains visible in the structure and design today. This heritage gives the space a raw quality that frames the artistic work in an unexpected way.
