Haus Konstruktiv, Art museum in Selnau district, Zurich, Switzerland.
Haus Konstruktiv is an art museum in the Selnau district housed in a former electrical substation. The building presents six to nine temporary exhibitions each year featuring constructivist, concrete, and conceptual art.
The institution was founded in 1986 by private individuals and opened to the public in 1987 at Seefeldstrasse. It relocated to its present location on Selnaustrasse in 2001.
The name reflects the constructivist art movement that has been central to this place since its founding. Visitors find works here that explore geometric forms and abstract concepts, shaping how modern art is presented in the city.
The museum sits about 800 meters from Zurich Main Station and is open Tuesday through Sunday, with extended evening hours on Wednesdays. Guided tours are available on Sundays to help visitors understand the exhibitions better.
The museum will relocate to the Löwenbräukunst-Areal, gaining significantly more exhibition space. This expansion will strengthen its role as Switzerland's leading collection in this art movement.
