Institut Le Rosey, Private boarding school in Rolle, Switzerland.
Institut Le Rosey is a boarding school in Rolle, Canton of Vaud, that spreads across a large site near Lake Geneva. The campus includes residential buildings, classrooms, laboratories, sports fields, and a center for performing arts.
Paul-Émile Carnal founded the school in 1880 in a 14th-century château that initially admitted only male students. From 1967 onward, the boarding school opened its doors to girls as well.
Students speak English or French depending on which of the two teaching languages they use at any moment. Many families value the connection between academic training and life between lake and mountains.
Children and teenagers between 8 and 18 years old can pursue either the International Baccalaureate or the French Baccalauréat here. A team of 110 teachers supports students in lessons and activities.
The entire school community moves to Gstaad from January to March, where winter classes take place. Students and teachers live together on a separate campus in the Alps.
