Aiguille d'Argentière, Mountain peak in Mont Blanc massif, France and Switzerland

The Aiguille d'Argentière reaches an elevation of 3,901 meters with steep granite faces and a secondary summit called Flèche Rousse at 3,878 meters.

Edward Whymper, A. Reilly, and three guides completed the first documented ascent of Aiguille d'Argentière on July 15, 1864, marking a milestone in Alpine climbing.

The mountain stands as a reference point for international mountaineers who gather annually to test their skills on its technical routes and glacial terrain.

Climbers access the mountain via the Grands Montets cable car station, with the Refuge d'Argentière serving as a base camp at 2,771 meters elevation.

The Glacier du Milieu route presents a challenging 400-meter ascent with slopes reaching 45 degrees, requiring advanced technical climbing skills and glacial equipment.
