Hirzli

Hirzli is a mountain in the Swiss Prealps reaching 1640 meters in elevation, located in the Glarus region. The peak stands above the surrounding valleys and can be accessed through multiple walking routes that connect from nearby villages.

The mountain has been a hiking destination for generations and forms part of the local mountain culture of the Glarus region. The area experienced different phases of agricultural and recreational use throughout the centuries.

The mountain forms part of the Zürcher Hausberge, a collection of peaks that hold particular importance for outdoor activities in the Swiss Alpine region.

The mountain can be reached through various hiking routes, most of which start from valley villages like Niederurnen. Well-marked trails guide walkers safely across the slopes to the summit.

The Hirzli-Rundweg circuit incorporates different elevation points, presenting hikers with a total vertical change of 746 meters throughout the journey.
