Bockmattli

Bockmattli is a mountain summit at 1932 meters elevation between the cantons of Glarus and Schwyz, marked by steep slopes that define the landscape. The area displays typical alpine features with diverse vegetation zones and pronounced topography along the cantonal boundary.

The mountain served shepherds for centuries through traditional grazing practices that created natural paths across its slopes. These historical routes form the foundation for modern hiking trails that still guide visitors to the summit today.

The summit serves as a popular launch point for paragliders who take off from here and soar over Lake Wägital toward multiple landing zones across the region. This flight path offers visitors a rare perspective of the valley and surrounding ridges from above.
