Bockmattli

Bockmattli rises to an elevation of 1932 meters between the cantons of Glarus and Schwyz, featuring steep slopes and diverse alpine landscapes.

Throughout centuries, local shepherds established traditional grazing patterns on Bockmattli's slopes, creating paths that modern hikers now follow to reach the summit.

The mountain hosts regular gatherings of Swiss hiking clubs, maintaining longstanding traditions of alpine community celebrations and mountaineering activities.

Hikers can access the mountain from Innerthal, following marked trails past Bockmattlihütte at 1525 meters before reaching the challenging summit section.

The mountain serves as a departure point for paragliders who launch from its summit to glide over Lake Wägital toward multiple landing zones.
