Chamanna Lischana, Mountain hut in Grisons, Switzerland
Chamanna Lischana is a mountain hut located at 2500 meters (8200 feet) elevation in the Swiss Alps, offering shelter and basic services for mountaineers and hikers. The facility sits in a strategic position for traversing the Sesvennagruppe range and the surrounding high-altitude paths.
The mountain hut was built in 1926 and has served as a key stopping point for hikers on the high-altitude paths of eastern Switzerland. Its construction was part of the alpine infrastructure expansion that took place in the region during that period.
The hut follows Swiss alpine traditions and serves regional dishes in a shared dining space where mountaineers from different countries gather. Visitors share sleeping rooms and meals, which naturally leads to conversations with other climbers.
The hut accommodates 49 guests and operates from late June through mid-October, requiring advance reservations. Contact manager Ursula Hofer by telephone or email to book your stay at this mountain shelter.
Several T3-classified hiking routes converge at this location, connecting visitors to multiple 3000-meter peaks including Piz Lischana and Piz Triazza. This concentration of demanding mountain routes makes the hut a special hub for serious alpinists.
