Dent de Broc, Mountain summit in Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland
The Dent de Broc reaches an elevation of 1,829 meters, standing between the valleys of Sarine and Motélon in the Swiss Prealps mountain range.
The mountain paths developed into established hiking routes during the early 20th century, connecting the communities of Broc and Gruyères through mountain passages.
The mountain overlooks the medieval town of Gruyères, where the renowned cheese production traditions of the region continue in surrounding mountain pastures.
Hikers can begin their ascent from the Motélon valley parking at Groins d'en Haut, following a narrow road that leads to Col des Combes at 1,668 meters.
The final approach to the summit requires rock scrambling techniques and presents views of Lake Gruyère to the north and the Dent de Brenleire to the south.
