Petit-Vivy Chateau

The castle features a square donjon measuring 10.4 meters on each side, with walls reaching 3.5 meters in thickness and rising 21.2 meters high.

The castle became a lordship seat before 1293, when three brothers named Pierre, Jocelin, and Conrad inherited the properties from Conrad de Viviers.

The fortress holds Class A Swiss cultural property status, representing one of the oldest preserved medieval structures in the Canton of Fribourg.

Located at 576 meters elevation near Schiffenensee lake, the castle site includes a tower, enclosing wall, moat, residence, and guardhouse within its triangular layout.

The donjon interior maintains evidence of its original five-level configuration, with the top floor offering views across the former Sarine River valley.
