Sant'Abbondio Church, Catholic church building in Gentilino, Collina d'Oro, Switzerland.

Sant'Abbondio Church is a Baroque building with three naves separated by two rows of round arches and marble altars. The central nave ends in a polygonal choir with 18th-century stucco work, and the bell tower, remodeled in 1863 by Agostino Camuzzi, has an octagonal bell chamber topped by a dome and spire. Two sundials are on the exterior, one dated 1790.

First documented in 1372, the church was radically altered in 1570 with the addition of the bell tower. By 1694 the three naves had been lengthened, the central one raised, the choir elevated and the pillars replaced, giving the building its baroque character. In 1863 Agostino Camuzzi remodelled the bell tower, adding bells from Giorgio Pruneri of Grosio and an octagonal bell chamber with dome and spire.

The cemetery column added in 1668 and the churchyard reshaped between 1723 and 1730 show how the parish marked its dead and its communal space. The bells cast in 1863 by Giorgio Pruneri of Grosio still hang in the tower rebuilt that year by Agostino Camuzzi.

The church stands in Gentilino, in the municipality of Collina d'Oro, and is reached by public transport at the Gentilino, S. Abbondio stop. The parish office can be reached on 091 994 61 19 for service times. The square in front of the church was laid out between 1723 and 1730 and gives level access to the entrance.

Two sundials are painted on the church's exterior walls, one of them dated 1790. The 1912 Marzoli e Rossi organ, rebuilt by Mascioni in 1986, has two 58-key manuals and a flat parallel pedalboard of 27 pedals, with mechanical keys and pneumatic pedals and stops.
