Schloss Wolfsberg, Ermatingen

The castle stands on a hill between forests and orchards, with formal gardens featuring geometric flowerbeds and gravel paths leading to the main building.

Wolf Walter von Gryffenberg constructed the castle in 1571, and Johannes Zollikofer acquired it in 1731, restoring the structure to its current form.

The castle grounds contain two notable outdoor sculptures by artists Henry Moore and George Richey, placed within the U-shaped colonnades facing the landscape.

Individual visitors can access the garden facilities without charge, while groups need to register in advance for guided tours of the castle complex.

An iron turret clock from 1540, crafted by Laurentius Liechti, remains mounted on the west wall of the castle library.
