Shanghai Tianma Circuit, motor racing circuit in China
Shanghai Tianma Circuit is a motorsport racing track in Songjiang district, approximately 2 kilometers long with numerous turns and straightaways built for high-speed racing. The facility includes pit areas, VIP boxes, and training centers where teams prepare vehicles and racing enthusiasts can participate in various motorsport activities.
The track opened in 2004 and has since become a major motorsport venue in China. Many well-known racing teams and car manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi have trained and competed here, bringing international recognition to the facility.
The name comes from the Chinese word 'Tianma', meaning 'celestial horse', which symbolizes speed and power. Visitors experience a passion for motorsport deeply woven into local culture, visible in how teams prepare and crowds gather to celebrate the sport.
The location is easily accessible by multiple expressways and sits just minutes from a metro line. The best time to visit is during the racing season from April to November when active events create the most energy and activity.
ASR Motosport Racing Team, one of China's oldest private racing teams, has been based here since 2005 and prepares its vehicles on-site. This long-standing presence shows how the track has become a home for professionals who continually sharpen their skills.
