Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden is a large facility in Songjiang with around 26 themed areas including a conservatory, a former quarry space, and sections for medicinal plants. The gardens are clearly organized and focus on displaying regional plant collections in dedicated zones.

The site was built starting in 2007 and opened to visitors in 2010, creating a new botanical space in Shanghai. The conservatory building was added shortly after and expanded what the garden could offer.

The garden displays East China plants in dedicated sections for magnolias and roses that reflect the region's botanical heritage. You can see how these collections shape the daily experience of walking through the space.

The garden sits on Chen Hua Road and has pathways to explore its different sections. Guided tours are available, which help you learn about the plant collections as you walk through.
