Happy Valley Shanghai

Happy Valley Shanghai is an amusement park in Songjiang District divided into seven themed areas including Sunshine Beach, Happy Times, Typhoon Bay, and Gold Mine Town. The grounds feature numerous rides and attractions spread across the site for various interests and ages.

The park opened in August 2009 as the fourth location in the Happy Valley chain developed by OCT Group across Chinese cities. It became part of a growing entertainment franchise that expanded leisure options in the Shanghai region.

The park reflects local entertainment tastes through regular performances at the OCT Grand Theater and traditional snack options scattered throughout the grounds. Visitors encounter a blend of modern rides alongside shows designed to appeal to Chinese audiences.

The best way to reach the park is via Metro Line 9 to Sheshan Station, where a shuttle service connects to the entrance. Visitors should plan for a full day and wear comfortable shoes, as walking across the grounds covers significant distances.

The Fire Ball wooden roller coaster is known for its distinctive creaking and groaning sounds that occur during the ride and become part of the experience. This acoustic quality makes the coaster instantly recognizable to returning visitors.
