Jingdezhen

The city spans across 5,256 square kilometers in northeastern Jiangxi province, featuring hills, rivers, and extensive deposits of kaolin essential for ceramic production.

Founded during the Han Dynasty as Xinping, Jingdezhen received its current name in 1004 CE and developed into China's primary imperial porcelain production site.

The local craftsmen utilize specific clay deposits and firing methods that have remained unchanged for over 1,700 years to produce distinctive white porcelain.
