Yancheng

Yancheng spreads across the largest jurisdiction area in Jiangsu Province, stretching along 582 kilometers of Yellow Sea coastline with extensive tidal wetlands.

The city received its name from salt production activities that started in 119 BC during the Western Han Dynasty when the first administrative region was established.

The Yancheng wetlands contain numerous nature reserves that protect endangered species, including red-crowned cranes and milu deer in their natural habitat.

The Yancheng Nanyang International Airport connects to major Chinese cities through domestic flights and maintains routes to multiple destinations in Korea.

The Dafeng Milu Nature Reserve maintains the largest breeding population of milu deer, which were extinct in their natural habitat until reintroduction programs began.
