Baotu Spring, Natural spring in Jinan, China
Three outlets in the rectangular pool of Baotu Spring release water jets reaching heights of 26 meters with consistent temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius.
The spring dates back 3,500 years to the Shang Dynasty and received recognition as the First Spring under Heaven by Emperor Qianlong during the Qing Dynasty.
The spring park features the 10,000 Bamboo Garden, containing 186 buildings across 13 courtyards that formerly housed the Ming Dynasty governor of Shandong province.
The spring park opens daily from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with an entrance fee of 40 RMB, and optimal visiting conditions occur between September and November.
The spring produces up to 162,000 cubic meters of naturally filtered water daily, contributing to the network of 733 springs that earned Jinan its City of Springs title.
