Greenland Puli Center, Modern high-rise building in Shizhong District, Jinan, China
The Greenland Puli Center is a 61-floor tower in the Shizhong District of Jinan, China. Its triangular floor plan is wrapped in vertical metal fins that run the full height of the building, creating a rippled surface visible from a distance.
Construction started in 2010 and the tower was completed in 2015. For several years after its completion, it held the title of the tallest building in Jinan before newer projects surpassed it around 2020.
The wave-like fins on the facade are a direct visual reference to Jinan's famous natural springs, which have shaped the city's identity for centuries. From street level, the effect is most visible on sunny days when the metal surface shifts between light and shadow.
The building stands on Gongqingtuan Road in central Jinan, within walking distance of several other city landmarks. Visiting during the day makes it easier to see the details of the metal facade, which changes in appearance depending on the light.
Despite its solid appearance from the street, the triangular floor plan means that each side of the building faces a different direction, giving tenants on every floor three distinct views of the city. The metal fins are not flat but slightly curved, which is what allows them to catch and redirect light in different ways throughout the day.
