Jinan Zoo, Public zoo in Tianqiao District, China.
Jinan Zoo is a facility with multiple sections where animals from different parts of the world live and can be viewed by visitors. The grounds include habitats for mammals, birds, reptiles, and aquatic animals, each designed to match the needs of the species housed there.
The facility was originally founded as Taurus Park in 1959 and opened to visitors in 1960. It received its current name in the late 1980s.
The zoo serves as a place where visitors come together to observe animals and learn about different species and their habitats. Local families use the space regularly for outings, making it a common gathering spot for children and adults to spend time outdoors together.
The location is easy to reach by public bus and rapid transit, situated in a central area of the city. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since exploring the different sections requires walking, and it takes time to move between areas.
A large bamboo forest was planted on the grounds during the 1970s to provide fresh food for the resident giant pandas and red pandas. Today this forested area is a place where visitors can watch the pandas while enjoying a quiet woodland environment away from the rest of the zoo.
