Water Lily Street, Commercial pedestrian street in central Jinan, China.

Water Lily Street is a 432-meter-long commercial pedestrian zone in central Jinan featuring traditional Chinese architecture and stone-paved paths. The street is lined with numerous local food establishments that form the backbone of its daytime activity.

The street received its name in 1771 from the Furong Spring, as documented in the Licheng County Chronicles during the Qianlong period. This naming preserves the memory of natural water sources that have shaped this area for centuries.

The street is home to several temples including the Guandi Temple and Fire God Temple, where you can see how locals practice their religious traditions. Walking past these sacred spaces, you notice how prayer and worship remain woven into daily life here.

The street connects to major landmarks such as the Confucius Temple and Quancheng Road, with multiple entry points accessible from different directions. The pedestrian zone is easy to navigate, with entrances clearly accessible from the surrounding area.

Ancient water channels from historic springs still flow beneath the stone pavement, keeping a centuries-old water system in operation. This hidden infrastructure reveals how thoughtfully the location was settled from the beginning.
