Ma On Shan Park, Urban park in Sha Tin District, Hong Kong.
Ma On Shan Park is an urban park in Sha Tin District, Hong Kong, covering 5.5 hectares with a central lawn, seating areas, and an adventure maze. The grounds also feature paved paths, shade trees, and open spaces facing the Pat Sin Leng mountain range.
The park opened on August 3, 1998, on land once tied to the mining industry that shaped the region. A display area now preserves ore samples and equipment from that industrial era.
The name means Saddle Mountain in reference to the nearby peak that dominates the skyline. Families gather here throughout the day, using the open spaces for morning exercises and evening walks.
The park sits at 12 On Chun Street beside Ma On Shan Plaza and opens daily from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM. The Ma On Shan metro station is nearby, making access straightforward.
Some paths are lined with smooth pebbles designed for therapeutic foot exercises, providing a light massage while walking. Certain spots offer direct views toward Tolo Harbor, which opens up beyond the tree line.
