The Parisian Macao, Luxury hotel and skyscraper in Cotai, China.
The Parisian is a tall hotel building with French-inspired design that rises in Macau's Cotai district. The property contains approximately 2,700 rooms and suites, multiple dining venues, gaming areas, and connects directly to a major transportation hub.
Las Vegas Sands estimated the cost at $2.5 billion, funded by $1.5 billion in bank loans and $900 million to $1 billion in cash, and paid a 900,000-pataca penalty for the delayed plot. Construction started in February 2013; the opening, first planned for late 2015, took place on 13 September 2016. In 2019, 600 rooms were converted into 300 suites, cutting the total from 3,000 to about 2,700.
Inside, the shopping arcade reproduces a Paris street scene, including a version of Place Vendôme, with elements modelled on Versailles and added Baroque and Rococo touches. The five-storey theatre seats over 1,200 and hosted the Michael Jackson musical Thriller Live as its first production, alongside Streetmosphere mime and living-statue acts.
Free shuttle buses link The Parisian Macao with the Border Gate, Hengqin Port, Taipa Ferry Terminal, the HZMB Macau Port and Sands Macao. The Cotai West station on the Macau Light Rapid Transit is within walking distance. The 1,200-seat theatre sits on the fifth floor, next to the Parisian Ballroom.
The Eiffel Tower replica stands beside the hotel, not on its roof: it is a half-scale copy about 160 metres tall with 38 levels. Tickets for the 7th floor were free during the COVID-19 period, while the 37th-floor viewing deck was priced at 75 patacas.
