Salt Industry History Museum, Salt industry heritage museum in Ziliujing District, China.
The Salt Industry History Museum displays ancient drilling tools, traditional salt extraction methods, and historical artifacts within the Xiqin Guildhall building.
Established in 1959 following Deng Xiaoping's initiative, the museum occupies the Xiqin Guildhall constructed between 1736 and 1752 by Shaanxi salt merchants.
The museum houses 18,214 cultural artifacts, including 503 traditional drilling tools, representing China's technological advancement in salt extraction through different periods.
Located at 4 Binjiang Road in Ziliujing District, the museum opens daily and provides guided tours through its permanent collection and temporary exhibitions.
The collection includes 431 precious cultural objects and geological specimens, documenting the evolution of drilling techniques reaching depths beyond 1000 meters by 1835.
